Hi my name is Kerri. My family and I just purchased our dream house. OK, well what will be our dream house. This blog is about turning the ugly house with the lavender door into the gorgeous house with the turquoise door. My wonderful husband Brent and I will be doing just about all the renovations ourselves while trying to stay on budget (Ok as close to budget as possible). The Ugly House with the Lavender Door.
My dream house has a wrap around porch!!!
Check out those brass fixtures. I can't wait to re-purpose those they are going to look beautiful oil rubbed bronze.
I have no idea why you say the place is ugly. My husband makes big dollars. I mean he just but his fourth movie car from the first ghost busters for 60 grand and he has one other car from the furious 7 for 90 grand. And the other movies cars are between 6 and 20 thousand dollar. I mean holy crap. I could have it too. To me I don't know. Why you call it ugly and the doors do seem to have purple in them maybe but I think your being way to hard on yourself.....your house is nice. And you wanna know what else before you delete my comment. I was a house keeper and a lot of the 4 thousand square feet I seen well only a few actually weren't that nice. To clean the excessive tile and the wood look flooring and the endless area they had to decorate. Not worth it. As long as you have your knook honey that's all you need. I like small. But stylish and sorta functional with some appeal. Nice home. And no I'm not lying my hubby will not give me the budget I desire but I do have nice things. It would take me 10 years to save for all I want and that's not enough. I don't know how people do it. I really don't. My electric bill is 500 each month and that's one bill everyone has. Alright. Thanks. I wanted to see ugly homes and was like hmm she calls her home ugly......no it isn't.
You have great windows nice land. Not sure how close the neighbors are but looks like you don't have any near you. But I totally understand why you have your own wish list. The home is nice. The trees are beautiful. My place has a lot of pretty brush and wild flowers. I live in a country town and I'm in the country pretty much. I'm making a closet in the entry right now. I just ripped out the old stuff and so lucky to have an undammaged wall. I painted my house in light cocoa Martha Stewart and the dark chocolate colors. I have wood look tile floors in a maghony color no red in them. Just redid my bathroom waiting on kitchen and windows. . This stuff cost a few bucks. Again I've seen a lot of homes and you place is pretty nice. I also just did recently to closets that are located right before walking into the bathroom and I took the old doors off and used white curtains. I decorated one of the closets with pillows baskets picture frames and candles. The other for storage. I really like how people use fabric instead of doors. So I did it too. Lucky for the internet otherwise my shine wouldn't come through. It's my own but people have no idea the influence we all have on each other. Good or bad. But I'm hard at it lately. And I wouldn't want people to say ugly because it's not. And your place is pretty nice.
Hmmmm.....looks blue to me. Doesn't look anything lavender. But the house is beautiful.
